Viktor Adžemović, a boy from Mrčajevci near Čačak, was born in 2011. From the very first day of his life, he has been facing serious health issues that prevent him from living like other children. As a consequence of cerebral palsy, Viktor is unable to walk, stand, or perform basic life functions independently, and his speech consists of just a few words.
Although his physical abilities are limited, Viktor’s brain functions normally, which gives hope that with the right assistance, he can develop his skills, particularly in terms of communication and intellectual progress.
The Help That Would Change Viktor’s Life
Viktor’s teacher and the principal of the “1st November” school in Čačak, where Viktor attends classes, have highlighted a significant trait of Viktor’s—his intellectual abilities. According to their suggestions, Viktor could benefit from using a Tobii communicator, a device that would allow him to communicate with his family, teachers, and the world. This device would help Viktor express everything he wants and thinks, making his life much richer and easier. The cost of the Tobii communicator is 830,000 dinars, an amount that the family cannot afford on their own.
In addition, further improvements to Viktor’s life require funds for surgeries, such as hip surgeries, muscle lengthening, as well as rehabilitation, physical therapy, and speech therapy. The estimated costs for these medical services are as high as 11,500,000 dinars, which presents a huge financial challenge for his family.
